Workshop overview and goals With the philosophy that understanding more about what you are doing when you use a microscope will lead to better results, we will be hosting a microscopy workshop on the University Park campus. Everyone is welcome to attend- you just need to sign up! Microscopy workshop schedule Lectures, 101 Althouse Tuesday, July 7, 10am - noonComparison of imaging systems from classical to cutting edge- learn the basic pros and cons of different imaging systems, and when to use what type of system Wednesday, July 8 10am - 11am Optimizing your imaging: a how-to guide for testing and setting your acquisition parameters to maximize the quality of your images Wednesday, July 8 11am - noonSeparating fluorescence light based on color: a comparison of methods from filter-based systems to spectral unmixing Hands-on sessions, 303 Althouse Tuesday and Wednesday, July 7 and 8, 1pm - 5pmYou can sign up for a slot in these session to try your samples on different microscope systems from wide-field to spinning disk to laser scanning confocal Sign up online for both the lectures and hands-on sessions. Systems you can try in the hands-on sessions will include wide-field microscopy with deconvolution, spinning disk confocal microsope, scanning confocal microscope.
