Though the basic tenants of the theory of sexual selection originate from Darwin,_there have_been many notable breakthroughs, modifications, and even extreme dissent in sexual selection theory in the twentieth century._ This talk will present some of_the current issues in sexual selection research and the challenges faced by modern scientists endeavoring to investigate new frontiers in sexual selection theory._ I will illustrate pressing questions in sexual selection theory by using examples from recent literature and also my own preliminary dataset_involving_fence lizards (Sceloporus undulatus). _
