The focus of Dr. Kirimanjeswara s research is to understand the interactions between respiratory pathogens and pulmonary defense mechanisms, with the goal of developing prophylactics and therapeutics against infectious diseases._ His current research projects include studies on the pathogenesis of Bordetella infections and in elucidating the mechanisms of cellular and humoral immunity to Francisella tularensis. He is being hosted by Dr. Vivek Kapur
