Lauren Kaskiel, (BSc Biotechnology, Minor Microbiology, Eberly College of Science, 2001) is currently leading the Alliance Management function for Spark Therapeutics. Prior to joining the Business Development & Strategy team at Spark, Lauren was with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for 14 years, starting her career as a co-op student working in the Molecular Virology & Host Defense department. Following graduation, Lauren re-joined GSK and spent 6 years in a Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics department. _After graduating with an M.B.A. from Drexel University in 2007, Lauren transitioned from the lab into a business operations role before becoming an Alliance Director within Worldwide Business Development. _ As such, she was responsible for managing a portfolio of GSKs alliances with biotech, diagnostic, venture, and academic partners including Avalon Ventures, Altius, Codexis and bioMerieux.
