Digital PCR - taking quantification of DNA and RNA (by real-time PCR) to the next level
April 26, 2012 @ 02:00 pm
to 04:00 pm
Marcia Slater, Life Technologies
HUB rooms 129 A, B, C
Digital PCR uses limiting dilutions and high replicate numbers to provide extreme precision for absolute quantification of nucleic acids targets. Digital PCR enables quantification of nucleic acids in situations where traditional qPCR is not enough. Genomics Core Facility The Genomics Core Facility has the OpenArray NT Cycler Real-Time PCR system that offers the ability to run high density OpenArray plates - an ideal solution for digital PCR. The OpenArray NT Cycler Real-Time PCR system can test over 9,000 wells per run. With their 33nl reaction volumes and higher numbers of wells, the OpenArray plates are making digital PCR a practical and cost-effective choice for PCR applications requiring the highest levels of precision. After the talk... Marcia will also be available after the talk for questions you might have on real-time qPCR. Refreshments will be served. About Marcia Slater Marcia Slater is a Senior Applications Specialist for qPCR at Life Technologies. Sponsors This event is sponsored by the Genomics Core Facility and Life Technologies. RSVP Please email Timothy Horsley to let us know if you will be attending the talk.
